What If

A What If view was added to evaluate variations on the current duty period without altering the current entries in APDL.

  • Use Regulation: Here you can force the legality calculations to a different regulation.
  • Time Already Flown and Time Left To Fly: these display the flight time (actual and scheduled) for the current duty period. These can be altered to determine legality for adding or removing flights.
  • Current Leg Blocked In: Displays the current leg's block in time. If a flight is early or delayed, this will allow for determining the legality of the remainder of the duty period.
  • Override Last Leg: For the last leg of a duty period the following can be adjusted to determine legality status: block out, block time, estimated off, flight time, and taxi in time.
    • Block Out: the last flight being delayed at the gate
    • Block Time: the total time for a leg is different than scheduled
    • Estimated Off: Last flight has blocked out, but is delayed on the tarmac
    • Planned Flight Time: The flight time for a leg differs from scheduled (headwind or tailwind)
    • Planned Taxi In Time: the default assumed taxi in time is 5 minutes; if an airport has a different assumed taxi in time, it can be adjusted here.
  • Finally, as with the Assumptions section of Legality, recompute and reset buttons are available
