Figure 1. Aircraft Configuration

One of the most important areas to configure in Logbook Pro is the Options...Aircraft area. Add each type of aircraft you currently fly, add additional when the time comes to fly new types. Fill out each column and configure all types completely. Logbook Pro uses this information for reports, data analysis, and other areas within the software.

A unique capability of Logbook Pro is streamlining data input. You will notice there are no columns such as Category and Class in the logbook entry areas, i.e. no Airplane Single-Engine Land, Helicopter, Glider, etc. Logbook Pro only requires five fields for a complete flight entry; Date, Type, Ident, Route, and Duration. When entering the type, Logbook Pro knows everything about this type of aircraft and will refer to the aircraft configuration area for its report generation. On the reports, if a type has Single-Engine Land, the column will appear as the particular type and all specifics is referenced from this area. Unique analysis for aircraft can be generated based off of the information configured here. The next great thing is that if you make a mistake, for example configure a Boeing 747 as Single-Engine land, you don't have to worry about changing your logbook entries, when you change the configuration in the Options...Aircraft, the reports and all data analysis areas will reflect this change automatically.

If you misspell and aircraft type and subsequently make flight entries, do not worry, Logbook Pro is a smart system. Go to the Options...Aircraft area and change the type, for example C1823 to C182 and all of your logbook entries will automatically change C1823 to C182 and you can spend your time flying, not auditing a flawed logbook.

If an item is not listed in the available drop down lists, such as Category, Class, etc, and Logbook Pro allows you to type in this field, enter the value desired and Logbook Pro will store this for future use.

Logbook Pro takes software to the extreme and ensuring you have the most accurate logbook by minimizing redundant time entries and opening opportunity for error. The Options...Aircraft area is a key to your success, spend your time here and ensure all information is accurate.
